Hi-Tech implants: do they live up to their name?

About the manufacturer

Products have been produced since the early 90s of the last century by Hi-Tech Implants. Production is concentrated in the suburbs of Tel Aviv: the company has a very good scientific and clinical base and modern equipment for the manufacture of implants, orthopedic components and instruments. Israel is one of the key countries on the world implantology map. Hi-Tech is inferior in popularity to other local systems - MIS and Alpha Bio, however, they occupy a fairly strong position in the domestic market and have recently become increasingly in demand among clinicians from other countries. The president of the company is Roy Leshem, who has quite a lot of weight in the professional community and regularly conducts his own educational courses for doctors. Hi-Tech implants can be classified in the middle price segment, however, some clinics position them as a budget alternative to premium systems.

Astra Tech: premium quality

Brand Astra Tech

– one of the three world leading manufacturers of dental implants. The company's production facilities are located in Sweden. The range of implants is varied and can be adapted to a non-standard clinical case.

The pins themselves are made of highly purified medical grade titanium alloy (grade 4). Microthreads are used on the neck of the implant, which helps distribute the load on the bone during chewing. The surface, enriched with fluoride ions, has an optimal roughness that stimulates fusion with the bone.

Technological solutions

The concept of high-tech implies the presence of progressive technological solutions, so the name automatically implies the need to meet high standards. This is what Hi-Tech Implants offers.

  • Alloy Grade 4. This is a classic titanium alloy from which most modern dental implants are made. It is considered more durable compared to previous generation alloys and does not contain vanadium, which can negatively affect surrounding tissues. On the other hand, this material has long been no longer considered a curiosity, so there is no need to talk about the uniqueness of Hi-Tech in this context.
  • Coating. The company has its own patented surface - Integrated Titanium Surface. By and large, it is an analogue of SLA coating, obtained using sandblasting and acid etching. Micropores are formed on the surface of the implants, which provide better contact with bone tissue and accelerate the process of osseointegration. This surface is a certain quality standard, but it cannot be called innovative either.

How does implantation work?

The specific steps depend on the chosen system, method and clinical situation. First, let's take a look at what preliminary procedures the patient needs to undergo.

  1. Tomogram for studying tooth roots and bone tissue.
  2. Establishing diagnosis.
  3. If diseases are discovered that require preliminary treatment, they will need to be addressed first.

These points are mandatory for everyone. Further points differ for single-stage and two-stage implantation procedures. When installing in one step, the procedure is as follows:

  • mandatory local anesthesia;
  • removal of a tooth;
  • implant insertion;
  • installation of a temporary crown (momentary load);
  • approximately six months later - replacement of the crown with a permanent prosthesis.

In case of implantation, the following procedures are carried out in several stages:

  • anesthesia;
  • cutting soft tissues;
  • preparing the hole for the implant;
  • pin installation;
  • suturing;
  • after 6 months, repeated surgery with installation of a prosthesis on a pin.

Line of implants "High-tech"

Hi-Tech Implants has one of the most extensive product lines, and this can certainly be considered an asset. Most Hi-Tech products are almost completely identical in design to Nobel Biocare systems, which is why many experts consider them to be a budget option for Nobel Biocare. In part, this can be called a plus, since the artificial roots of Nobel Biocare are among the top three world systems, but it should be understood that no copy can be better than the original. The most popular are the company's five lines.

  • Logic.
    Structurally repeats Nobel Active. The Logic implant has an aggressive thread and is designed primarily for esthetic restorations. These products have the function of switching platforms and a very wide range of sizes (8.5-16 millimeters).
  • Implex.
    Root-shaped implant with a conical connection (analogous to Nobel Replace). A universal solution for various clinical cases.
  • Vision.
    A root-shaped implant with a polished neck, which helps create the correct soft tissue relief.
  • Expert.
    One of the most successful models that combines the advantages of the Logic and Implex systems.
  • Summit.
    Implant with parallel walls and external hexagonal connection. It replicates the Branemark system and is used less frequently compared to other Hi-Tech implant models.

In addition to the lines described above, the company produces Summit Zygomatic zygomatic implants, as well as a system of short titanium roots, which are designed for implantation in cases of insufficient bone height and in other non-standard situations. Hi-Tech products can be used in both two-stage and one-stage protocols.

Advantages of Hi-Tec products

  • Lifetime Warranty! After installation, the patient is given a certificate confirming the right to a free replacement if something happens.
  • Price. These are not the cheapest implants, but they are significantly more affordable than systems from premium brands, without compromising much in quality (and sometimes not at all).
  • For manufacturing, grade 4 titanium purified from impurities is used.
  • The products have not only received certificates from licensing authorities in the USA, Canada, and Europe, but also significantly exceed the requirements of these organizations.
  • All implants are manufactured using Japanese equipment from CNS Star.
  • Most platforms are compatible and interchangeable with Nobel premium systems.
  • You can choose a solution for any clinical case.
  • The implants are suitable for immediate implantation, both with and without immediate loading.
  • The risk of rejection is one of the lowest in the industry.

Pros and cons of Hi-Tech implants

  • Application of high-quality and modern technological solutions.
  • Good research and production base.
  • Extensive range for different clinical cases.
  • Availability of all necessary quality certificates.
  • More than 25 years on the market.
  • Reasonable price.
  • The company is not at the forefront of the industry, despite its name.
  • The design of Hi-Tech implants copies Nobel Biocare products. In terms of image, this is a minus.

Features of implant care

In general, caring for dentures is no different from caring for your own teeth. You need to clean it at least 2 times a day and use a mouthwash. For the first time after installation, it is better not to chew on this side at all, and only after a couple of days begin to slowly “load” with soft food. You need to give up solid foods for at least 2-3 weeks.

Do not forget that if you do not care properly, your warranty may be denied. If you experience discomfort or other problems, contact your treating orthodontist immediately. And then Hi-Tec implants will last at least 20 years.

Reviews from implantologists about Hi-Tech implants

Hi-Tech products have been on the market for quite some time, and the company is quite a major player. Hi-Tech Implants supplies its products to dozens of countries, uses proven design and technological solutions and, in general, can be considered a strong middle peasant. Of course, this system has its fans among clinicians, especially since the company uses many of the developments of Nobel Biocare, one of the industry leaders. Hi-Tech implants have a very clear installation protocol and high-quality instruments, which is important for dentists. On the other hand, some doctors prefer to use the original rather than a copy, and it’s hard to blame them. As for patients, the main thing for them is to obtain the highest quality functional and aesthetic indicators. With Hi-Tech it is quite possible to get a decent result, but they cannot be considered as a full-fledged alternative to Nobel Biocare.

Turnkey Osstem implants

They have a lower cost than similar ones from other companies, but their quality and other characteristics are absolutely not inferior to their analogues. The cost of dental restoration using Osstem dental implantation at the Dental Master clinic is calculated individually, taking into account the selected crown.

It is not possible to save on imported expensive and high-quality components and materials, but due to the fact that the clinic is located not in the capital, but in the Moscow region, its prices are much lower than in the capital. You can be 100% sure of one thing: the quality and professionalism of the installation will be at the highest level.

German quality Ankylos

German Ankylosis implants, used in the clinics of the German Implantology Center, are distinguished by a special thread and a special type of porous surface, which is patented. The thread of the implants is arcuate. Ankylosis implants have an ideal fit of the gingival part, which makes the product in demand for the restoration of the frontal row. Artificial roots of this German brand take root approximately 2 times faster than inexpensive implants used in other clinics such as Impro and Biohorizons. Clinical and practical observations show that Ankylos implant systems are stable in bone even decades after their installation.

Progress and quality of Bredent implants

These are relatively new dental implants. Our clinics use a range of zirconium dioxide. The Bredent line of implants is suitable for allergy sufferers and people experiencing difficulties with tissue regeneration. The risk of rejection of such implants is almost zero.

The artificial zirconium root has a snow-white hue, is aesthetically pleasing and is suitable for installing a ceramic crown without additional manipulation. Demanded for restoring front teeth. There are models for recreating lost units in narrow spaces between natural teeth, and rulers for weakened bone mass.
